Why should you create a website?
You'll have your own space on the internet that you have complete control over. As opposed to Twitter, Discord, etc. where you can only really customize your banner and pfp. Not to mention the monthly fees that Twitter and Discord charge to give you more customization!
It's easier to avoid bad crowds. On public social media accounts, anything you post has the chance to go viral, with no way for you to control it. In general, you can't prevent the things you post online from attracting negative attention. However, it's much easier to manage when your profile is under your own control.

Literally anything can be a website!
Some of my favorite examples of 'useless' websites:- crouton.net - literally just a picture of a crouton.
- IsMyComputerOn.com - Yes it is!
- Le webring de la Salade - It's french. It's pictures of salad. I have no idea what this is, but most pages are run by people with a PhD in comp sci.
- BouncingDVDLogo.com - Bouncing DVD logo!!
